We Are Now Open For Submissions for Issue Five!
This issue is not themed.
Deadline: April 29th 2018
**With all submissions please include a cover letter with description of the work and how it suits the mandate of both issue (if issue is themed) and magazine as well an artist’s/writer’s bio.**
First of all, we recommend that all interested contributors familiarize themselves with our previous issues, try to get a feel for what we are looking for in a submission. Please check out our Pinterest page as well, as that has a broader range and could even be viewed as a kind of wish list.
And now on to the details, Repurposed is interested in art that engages with repurposed themes and items. That’s the most important thing, so the following guidelines are just that: guidelines. We will consider work that falls outside of these specifications, if they suit the spirit of Repurposed.
Please send all submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org
NB – All submissions must be previously unpublished (unless such work ie. street art is by its nature public), including self-publication on social media and personal websites, portfolios and profiles. We do accept simultaneous submissions, but please inform us immediately if accepted elsewhere.
A fiction submission should be double-spaced, in a legible font, and not over 7,000 words. Please send only one to two short fiction submissions at a time.
Please submit no more than 5 poems per submission (3 to 5 is best). No more than one poem per page.
We are especially interested in non-fiction that critically examines the spectre of waste culture, though by no means exclusively. Maximum 5,000 words, sent as a .doc, .docx, or .rtf
For written work, please send work and cover letter as a single document and using the following file name convention: LastName_TypeofSubmission_Date (.doc, .docx, .rtf, .txt)
We look for art and photography to accompany written work in the magazine, as well as art to feature in the magazine. Accepted files include .jpg, .tiff, and .png and please make sure all files are hi-res images (300dpi).
Please submit your audio as a .mp3, .wav or .avi. Maximum duration of ten minutes. Here we are looking for covers of songs that re-interpret or engage with existing materials and any other musical interpretation your imagination might dream up.
Please submit your video as an .mp4. Maximum duration in ten minutes.
For art, music, and video please send hi-res image files (or audio or video files) as well as a cover letter using the following file name convention: LastName_TypeofSubmission_Date (.doc, .docx, .rtf, .txt), detailing your name and contact info. as well as the title(s) of submitted works.
If you have a format that was not mentioned but that you believe suits our mandate, please send it along!
The copyright stays with the creator. Repurposed holds first rights and exclusivity for six months following publication of the Issue in which it appears.
Unfortunately, at this time Repurposed cannot pay contributors, though we are hoping that, as we grow, that will change.
