The seven suspended copper pistols signify the days of the week, the sequins below with splatters of red nail polish ‘blood’ represent deaths due to gun violence, and the bunny on the top symbolizes ignorance, indifference, and innocence.
Each day in the US there is an astounding average of 89 deaths due to gun violence* which is seven times higher than in countries such as Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, and the UK. I was inspired to create Seven Days A Week as a way to cope with the news surrounding repeated mass shootings.
